Interfaith Teen Delegation to Lobby in Springfield

Want to meet with elected officials in Illinois’s capitol, lobby for social change, and do all that with teens from diverse faith traditions?
JMCBI invites Jewish, Muslim and Christian teens to participate in Illinois Muslim Action Day (iMAD). iMAD is an exciting and powerful interfaith youth initiative that brings together Jewish, Muslim and Presbyterian youth leaders to advocate for social justice issues for all Chicago communities. Teens will meet three times prior to Illinois Muslim Action Day and explore issues such as interfaith collaboration, solidarity, religious tolerance, civic engagement, and youth leadership. Dynamic workshops will facilitate education and discussion surrounding important issues addressed on Illinois Muslim Action Day. Following our powerful workshops, we will travel to Springfield, IL as an interfaith community for a day of advocacy and civic engagement!

Illinois Muslim Action Day (all day): Wednesday, March 9th, 2011.
Dates and times of preparatory workshops:
Sunday, Jan 30, 2011 3-5 pm
Sunday, Feb 20, 2011 3-5 pm
Sunday, Feb 27, 2011 3-5 pm
Cost: FREE!
Travel: A bus will take all participants to Springfield and back free of cost.
